In the Studio with Homegrown Worship

On Sunday 2nd December I traveled down to Oliver’s Studio in Cheltenham to record the lead vocal parts of 4 of my songs as part of the Homegrown Worship ‘Handpicked Playlist’ for 2019.

It was a full day. I set off at 5am to arrive by 9am. We then worked solidly on vocals for the four songs. We managed to have a 30min break for lunch, but did not have much time to spare as we encountered a few technical problems with some of the tracks – all of which will be resolved by the time the songs are released – so don’t worry.

I worked with Tom Auton – he is a great guy and did a good job.

We even managed to record some backing vocals for one of the tracks, which was fun. It’s always fun singing backing for yourself – your voice is everywhere on the track! But great fun all the same.

The four songs I have recorded and are set for a 2019 release are:

  • Humble Heart
  • Long Ago In Bethlehem
  • Sweet Surrender
  • Unlimited

Do keep an eye (or should I say ear) open for these as they release throughout 2019. I will be sharing videos, links to where you can stream or buy the songs as well as access to free chord charts so you can sing them in your churches too!

A lot of work goes into writing, recording, producing and mastering a song. This is one of the steps of the process. I hope you enjoy the end result as much as I will.

Thanks for reading – see you soon.
