UK Songwriting Competition 2019

It has been a while since I last entered the UK Songwriting Competition. I decided to enter again this year because at the time, I had just released 2 singles: ‘Humble Heart’ and ‘Unlimited’.

Both are worship songs, and based on past experience I know that songs with more of a CCM (Christian Contemporary Music) style seem to fare better. Anyway, I entered the songs that I had.

The judging system was different this year. Both songs passed through the first round achieving 5-stars (out of 5) each.

This moved them into a Semi-Final position. From this point you could move to the Final and then to the Grand Final.

Both songs, however, stopped at the Semi-Final position, which I am fairly happy with.

This means ‘Fingerprints’ that made it to a Finalist position (before there was a Grand Final stage) in the 2014 competition is still my highest ranking song.

You can hear all these songs on Spotify or any other streaming platform. You can also download free chord charts as well as purchase reasonably priced sheet music for you to use these songs in your own churches.
