Songwriting Days

Aims

I believe that the local church songwriter has a unique and important role in every congregation. They are able to contribute to the worship vocabulary of their own fellowship in a way that no outside source can do. Their understanding of the life, learning and limitations of their church family allows them to contribute, alongside the broader worldwide corpus of hymn and song writing, to a rich and real expression of worship.

  • To be ecumenical.
  • To develop a worship song writing culture and community in the region of East Anglia.
  • To give opportunity for worship songwriters to build relationships with each other and to work collaboratively together.
  • To train, develop and equip songwriters to have a positive impact in developing and enriching the sung vocabulary of their local church.
  • To share songs as widely as possible.
  • To write songs that are real, honest, well crafted, congregationally accessible, biblically / theologically accurate and road-tested.
